Questionable Authorship in 10.3389/fpubh.2026.1774267
The authorship of the article [1] is questionable.
Our investigation reveals that the article [1] and the prepring [2] share the same title and abstract, yet their authorship differ. Article [1] is authored by Huibin Du (杜慧滨), Chunxin Zhang, and Diyi Liu, while the preprint [2] lists Chunxin Zhang, Diyi Liu, and Binbin Peng as the authors.
We believe that the article [1] and the preprint [2] are the same manuscript. This manuscript was submitted to other journal(s) with the authorship of Huibin Du (杜慧滨), Chunxin Zhang, and Diyi Liu before being submitted to Frontiers in Public Health. The change in authorship upon submission to Frontiers in Public Health is therefore questionable.
There is, however, an alternative explanation. Huibin Du’s inclusion as an author on the previous version was an improper practice. When the manuscript was subsequently submitted to Frontiers in Public Health—a journal with a low reputation in China—Du no longer wished to be listed, and her name was therefore replaced by Binbin Peng.
